Your Solar Warranty – Fully Covered, Fully Supported

Every Central Coast Energy installation comes with three layers of warranty protection: our 10-year workmanship warranty, manufacturer product warranties on all components, and long-term performance guarantees on your panels. Here’s exactly what’s covered and how to make a claim.

Three Layers of Protection on Every Installation

When you install solar with Central Coast Energy, you’re protected by three separate warranties that work together to cover every component of your system for the long term.

Central Coast Energy

10years

Workmanship Warranty

Manufacturer

10 – 25years

Workmanship Warranty

Panels Only

25 – 30years

Performance Warranty

What’s Covered — and What Isn’t

Understanding the boundaries of your warranty helps you know when to contact us and what to expect.

Covered by Warranty

  • Installation defects — faulty wiring, loose connections, improper mounting
  • Manufacturing defects in panels, inverters and batteries
  • Inverter failure within the warranty period
  • Panel output degradation below the warranted minimum
  • Battery capacity loss below the warranted minimum
  • Roof leak caused by our installation work

Not Covered by Warranty

  • Damage from severe weather events (storms, hail, lightning)
  • Damage caused by third parties (e.g. roofers, antenna installers)

Warranty FAQs

Common questions about your solar panel, inverter and battery warranty coverage.

Our 10-year workmanship warranty covers all installation labour and work performed by Central Coast Energy. This includes panel mounting, wiring, inverter installation, switchboard connections, roof penetrations and all electrical work. If anything we installed develops a fault within 10 years — whether it’s a loose connection, a wiring issue, a roof leak from our mounting, or any other installation-related problem — we return and fix it at no cost to you.
The product warranty covers manufacturing defects — if a panel, inverter or battery fails due to faulty materials or manufacturing within the warranty period, the manufacturer replaces it. The performance warranty (panels only) guarantees a minimum output level over time. For example, a 25-year performance warranty guaranteeing 84.8% means if your panels are producing less than 84.8% of their original rated output at year 25, the manufacturer must remediate the shortfall. Both are separate from our workmanship warranty.
For our workmanship warranty, no — it’s unconditional for 10 years from installation. For manufacturer warranties, the main requirement is that the system was installed by a CEC-accredited installer (which Central Coast Energy is) and that no unauthorised modifications have been made to the system. We recommend regular professional servicing to keep your system in peak condition, and having a documented service history strengthens any warranty claim.
No — you just contact us. We handle the entire manufacturer warranty claims process on your behalf, including fault diagnosis, documentation, communication with the manufacturer, and arranging replacement parts. You don’t need to contact any manufacturer directly. This is one of the advantages of using a local, established installer — we’re your single point of contact for everything.
No. Damage from severe weather events including storms, hail, lightning and flooding is not covered by our workmanship warranty or manufacturer warranties. However, your home and contents insurance typically covers solar panels and inverters as part of your property. We recommend checking with your insurer that your solar system is included in your coverage. If storm damage occurs, contact us for an inspection and repair quote.
